How SIGNR works

Built like an A&R listens.
Measured like an engineer.

SIGNR doesn't guess. Every report is built on measured audio data, compared against reference profiles of real label catalogs, and framed through criteria A&Rs actually use. This page explains what that means — and where the limits are.

What a report is built on
01

Audio measurement

Your track is analyzed across frequency balance, loudness, dynamics, stereo imaging, resonances, and arrangement structure. Each measurement is compared against reference profiles built from professionally released tracks in your genre — not generic targets, not AI guesses.

02

Label intelligence

Each label profile is built from analysis of the label’s recent releases, public A&R statements and interviews, documented demo channels, and mastering references. Profiles are calibrated per label and updated as labels evolve — a label’s 2026 sound is not its 2018 sound.

03

A&R framing

The feedback layer translates measurements into the language and priorities of a demo inbox: what gets a track skipped in 30 seconds, what blocks a signing, and what to fix first. It’s built from experience on both sides of that inbox — submitting demos and reviewing them.

What SIGNR doesn't claim

✓ WHAT YOU CAN TRUST

Every metric in a report is measured, not generated

Label comparisons trace back to analyzed releases

A&R quotes come from documented public sources — never invented

Profiles carry a calibration window and get refreshed

Your audio is analyzed and deleted — never stored, never used for training

✗ WHAT IT WILL NEVER DO

Judge artistic quality, emotion, or creativity

Predict or guarantee that a label signs your track

Replace A&R taste, relationships, or timing

Speak for any label — SIGNR is fully independent

Publish its full methodology — that research is the product

One honest note on transparency: we publish what SIGNR measures and what its profiles are built from — but not the full recipe. The reference dataset and calibration methodology represent years of research and are what make the feedback worth anything. What we do promise: every claim in your report traces back to a measurement or a documented source.

Independence

SIGNR is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any label mentioned on this site or in reports. Label profiles are built from publicly available release analysis and industry research. Directional fit is an independent estimate — the decision is always the label's.
